About This Compound
Epithalon — also transliterated Epitalon — is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG). It was originally derived by Prof. Vladimir Khavinson at the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation as a shorter, synthetic analogue of the natural pineal-gland extract Epithalamin, and has been extensively investigated in the Russian and international preclinical literature since the late 1980s.
The compound is a small linear tetrapeptide (MW 390.4 Da) and is well-suited to solid-phase synthesis.
